Project Description
The Client
The world’s largest Oilfield Services Company employing over 60,000 employees, 15,000 of which were International Mobile employees that were required to service over 600 exploration and production well sites scattered across the world.
The Brief
The company needed to revamp its Mobility Policy in light of changes to the market for its services. Traditionally the International Mobility policy supported the ‘anytime, anywhere’ requirement of the oilfield services industry. Due to changes in technology, more detailed technical services were being delivered in client’s offices instead of at remote drilling and processing sites. This meant that assignments in one place had to be longer and the mobility required was on a more limited and predicable scale.
The Solution
A ‘European Mobile’ policy was developed that encouraged mobility, ensured continuity of pension and insurances and lowered the costs from the premium International Mobile policy.
The Result
The package decreased costs circa $30,000 per employee and redefined the mobility options across the business. The policy was implemented and after 2 years was replicated across South America, Asia and Middle East.
