Project Description
The Client
A global corporation with employees in over 50 countries, and regional headquarters in Asia, Europe and the Americas.
The Brief
With a significant assignee population and a growing mix of home and host country combinations the organisation had concerns around its global payroll structure and the ability of the function to manage global compliance obligations and deliver an optimised payroll experience for the assignee population.
The Solution
We were aware that the organisation was undertaking many elements of a mobility transformation program and we were cognisant that our deliverable had to add value in this broader context. We committed to providing two deliverables:
- A briefing document with a full analysis of assignment payroll models & methodologies that included a heat map, challenges, outcomes; we also provided specific recommendations around how to overlay a split payroll model across each.
- To assist the organisation in the selection of a global payroll vendor we provided a capability matrix that outlined the competencies in relation to assignment payroll that would be required from a global vendor.
The Result
Our output provided clarity around the corporate direction for assignment payroll and provided context as to what the upstream and downstream impacts of assignee payroll were likely to be.
Our capability matrix was leveraged in the vendor assessment process to ensure that assignment payroll obligations were on the agenda.
